Gigmile

Privacy Policy

Effective September 29, 2026 · Last updated September 29, 2026

The short version

This policy explains how Gigmile (the “App”), published by Pinchuk LLC (“we”, “us”), handles information when you use it on iPhone, including its widgets and Live Activities.

1. Information stored on your device

To work, Gigmile creates and keeps the following on your iPhone:

InformationWhyWhere it lives
Location while you drive (GPS points, speed, time)Detect trips and measure their distanceYour iPhone
Trips (start/end time and place, distance, route)Your mileage log, maps, and deductionYour iPhone + your iCloud if sync is on
Your classifications, earnings, platform, notesBusiness vs. personal, earnings insightsYour iPhone + your iCloud if sync is on
Vehicles, expenses, ignored placesMaintenance reminders, actual-expense comparison, filteringYour iPhone + your iCloud if sync is on
Settings (units, fuel economy, work hours, IRS rate)Personalize calculationsYour iPhone

Raw GPS points are kept only until a trip is finished; after that, only the trip and its route are saved. Widgets on your Home Screen and Lock Screen read a small summary (for example, this month's deduction) that the App stores in a private area of your device shared only with its own widgets.

iCloud sync

If iCloud sync is available and enabled for Gigmile on your device, your trips and related records are stored in your own private iCloud database so they appear on your other devices. That database belongs to your Apple Account; we have no access to it. Apple's handling of iCloud data is covered by the Apple Privacy Policy.

2. Information that leaves your device

Gigmile sends information off your iPhone only in these cases:

Street addresses for trips (Apple)

To show “From” and “To” addresses, the App asks Apple's geocoding service (the same one Apple Maps uses) to turn a trip's start and end coordinates into a street name. Those coordinates go to Apple, not to us, under Apple's privacy policy.

Starting a Live Activity while your phone is locked

iOS only lets an app start a Lock Screen Live Activity while it's open. When a trip begins with your phone locked, Gigmile asks our relay server to have Apple Push Notification service start the Live Activity on your iPhone. The request contains only:

It contains no location coordinates and nothing that identifies you. The relay passes the request to Apple and does not store or log it. As with any internet connection, the server necessarily sees your IP address while handling the request; it is not recorded. You can avoid these requests entirely by turning off Live Activities for Gigmile in iOS Settings.

Purchases (Apple)

Subscriptions and free trials are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment details. The App asks Apple only whether you have an active subscription and whether you're eligible for the free trial.

Files you choose to share

PDF and CSV reports are created on your device. They go only where you send them using the iOS share sheet (for example, email to your accountant).

We do not use advertising identifiers, analytics or crash-reporting services, social-media SDKs, or data brokers. We do not sell, rent, or share personal information, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

3. Permissions

4. How long information is kept, and how to delete it

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or California's CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information and to opt out of its sale or sharing. Since your information is stored on your devices and in your own iCloud account, you can exercise these rights directly in the App and iOS. We do not sell or share personal information. If you have a question or request, contact us and we'll respond within 30 days.

6. Children

Gigmile is intended for adults who drive for work. It isn't directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country), and we don't knowingly collect information from children.

7. Security

Your data is protected by iOS, including device encryption when your iPhone is locked with a passcode. Connections to Apple and to our relay use encrypted HTTPS.

8. Tax information

Deduction amounts in Gigmile are estimates based on the IRS standard mileage rate and the information you enter. They are not tax advice. Please confirm your figures with a qualified tax professional.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change how Gigmile handles information, we'll update this page and the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the App's release notes.
